Aiden Martin Beans, 18, of California, and Jake Ashton Bothwell, 18, of Hollywood
Aiden Martin Beans, 18, of California, and Jake Ashton Bothwell, 18, of Hollywood, are each facing charges of fourth-degree sexual offense and second-degree assault following an alleged incident involving a juvenile victim on a school bus, according to court documents filed in Calvert County.
The charges stem from an incident reported to authorities on March 30, 2026, involving student athletes traveling from St. Mary’s Ryken High School to Indian Creek High School in Crownsville, Maryland. The incident itself occurred on March 3, 2026, on a bus traveling through the Prince Frederick and Huntingtown area.
According to charging documents, investigators reviewed video footage that appeared to show Bothwell standing over a seated juvenile male victim, exposing himself and making repeated thrusting motions while blocking the victim from leaving his seat. The victim, described as smaller in stature, was seated in the aisle and reportedly unable to move.
Documents state that Beans later allegedly exposed himself, positioned himself over the same juvenile victim, and engaged in similar actions. The juvenile victim told investigators he did not consent and attempted to push both individuals away but was unable to do so.
Investigators determined that the incident was recorded on a cell phone. While a third student was initially believed to have recorded the video, authorities later concluded that Beans recorded the incident involving Bothwell. The video was subsequently shared among students before being turned over to school administrators, who notified law enforcement.

Coach Jonathan Evan Lombardo
According to the juvenile victim, on March 26, 2026, both Bothwell and Beans approached him and told him they had been instructed by Coach Jonathan Evan Lombardo to “clean up” what had occurred. This interaction reportedly happened before the victim’s mother became aware of the incident.
The victim’s mother told investigators she learned about the incident on March 26, 2026, after noticing changes in her child’s behavior and academic performance. During a conversation at home, the juvenile disclosed what had happened on the bus earlier that month.
Authorities executed search warrants and subpoenas as part of the investigation, including efforts to obtain cell phone data and communications related to the incident. Investigators also worked with Keller Transportation to secure surveillance footage from the bus.
Text message conversations recovered during the investigation included one message stating, “The only thing you could get is recording,” with a response of “Yea,” as well as another exchange where a message read, “Jake prob fugged dude,” followed by “Ik feel bad but he did do everything he is gonna get charged with.”
In another message included in the documents, a student wrote, “and had already been contemplating and thinking for almost month what was bouta do ab that situation. just couldn’t go another day getting disrespected.”
Following review of the evidence, investigators concluded that both Beans and Bothwell allegedly exposed themselves and forced sexual contact on the juvenile victim without consent. Authorities further stated the victim was placed in fear for his safety during the incident.
The case was reviewed by the Calvert County State’s Attorney’s Office, which agreed to prosecute. Both defendants have been formally charged, and the case remains pending in District Court.
