UPDATE 5/4/2026: On Saturday, May 2nd, 2026, at approximately 0045 hours, Troopers from Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack along with deputies from the Charles County Sheriff’s Office responded to Maryland Route 210 (Indian Head Hwy) in the area of Wooster Drive for a report of a serious motor vehicle collision.
Due to the circumstances, the Maryland State Police CRASH Team responded to assume the investigation.
A preliminary investigation conducted by Troopers from the MSP La Plata Barrack and the MSP CRASH Team indicates a pedestrian identified as James Anthony Williams 46-year old of Bryan’s Road, MD was standing in lane number one of southbound Maryland Route 210.
A 2014 Honda CR-V operated by a 20-year-old male, from Nanjemoy, MD was traveling southbound Maryland Route 210 and collided with Mr. Williams.
After the collision, Mr. Williams landed in the roadway and was subsequently struck by a 2016 Toyota Prius operated by a 44-year-old female from Bryan’s Road, MD.
Mr. Williams was transported to Capital Region Hospital and was pronounced deceased. Both vehicle operators refused treatment on the scene.

On Saturday, May 2, 2026, at approximately 12:47 a.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Indian Head Highway and Wooster Drive in Bryans Road, for the reported motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.
911 callers reported a man was truck by a vehicle and was laying in the roadway. Prior to the arrival of First Responders, callers reported the man was struck by at least two additional vehicles.
Crews arrived to confirm a single adult male laying in the roadway suffering from life-threatening injuries and not conscious. A helicopter was requested to land nearby.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 responded and transported the patient to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
Flight medics began performing CPR and life-saving measures while in the air to the trauma center. The patient was later pronounced deceased at the trauma center.
Troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack are investigating the collision.
