Ronald Steven Clements, 53, of Lexington Park, has been charged with violating a protective order after deputies with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office alleged he drove past a protected person’s residence and shouted profanities while an active peace order was in effect.
According to court documents, the charge stems from an investigation on May 1, 2026, when deputies responded to Williams Drive in Lexington Park for a reported peace order violation. Deputies said the complainant told investigators there was an active final peace order against Clements that had been signed on Jan. 21, 2026, and remained in effect through July 20, 2026.
Charging documents state the order prohibited Clements from contacting or attempting to contact the protected person and from engaging in harassment or similar conduct.
Investigators reviewed video footage from a security camera attached to a mailbox near the protected person’s driveway, according to the statement of probable cause. Deputies alleged that on April 25, 2026, a gray Honda hatchback drove past the residence and stopped near the mailbox. Court records state that as the vehicle passed within several feet of the camera, Clements allegedly yelled, “You f##king fa##ot b##ch.”
Deputies also reviewed a second video from Jan. 9, 2026, which allegedly showed Clements stopping near the same mailbox while driving a red Subaru station wagon. According to court documents, Clements allegedly shouted several profanities toward the camera, including, “Suck my d##k… fat fa##ot b##ch… hope you see this message… little g#y ass b##ch ass fa##ot ass motherf##ker.”
The probable cause statement said the earlier January incident led the protected person to seek the peace order against Clements. Deputies wrote that the order specifically barred Clements from harassment, stalking, trespassing, misuse of electronic communication, or contacting the protected person “in person, by telephone, in writing, or by any other means.”
According to investigators, the April 25 incident demonstrated that Clements was aware of the camera’s presence because of the earlier encounter in January. Deputies alleged that Clements “used the surveillance camera of the victim as means to violate the order and contact/communicate with him.”
Court documents state deputies later went to Lynn Drive in Lexington Park, where they made contact with Clements. Investigators wrote that Clements admitted he had driven past the residence and “did call him couple names.” He was then arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center.
Clements is charged with one count of violating a protective order under Maryland Family Law Article 4-509, an offense carrying a maximum penalty of 90 days incarceration and/or a $1,000 fine.
Court records show Clements was later released on personal recognizance with conditions that he not engage in criminal activity and appear for all required court proceedings.
