Garry Wayne Morris, 36, of Great Mills
Garry Wayne Morris, 36, of Great Mills, has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance following an April 22, 2026 arrest in Lexington Park, according to court documents.
Charging documents filed in the District Court for St. Mary’s County state that Morris was charged with two counts of “CDS: Possess-Not Cannabis” under Maryland Criminal Law section 5-601(a)(1).
According to the statement of probable cause filed by Deputy Joseph Senatore of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy was conducting routine patrols near Three Notch Road and Pegg Road in Lexington Park on April 22, 2026, when he observed a white Volkswagen Jetta traveling northbound on Three Notch Road. The deputy stated, “I know the defendant, Garry Wayne Morris, to commonly be associated with this vehicle.” The deputy also wrote that he knew Morris “to have multiple outstanding warrants for his arrest through multiple law enforcement agencies.”
Court records state the deputy traveled alongside the vehicle and identified Morris sitting in the rear passenger seat. A traffic stop was then conducted near Three Notch Road and Buck Hewitt Street in Lexington Park.
According to charging documents, Morris was removed from the vehicle and arrested on the outstanding warrants. Deputies then conducted a search incident to arrest and allegedly found “(1) 8MG/2MG Buprenorphine sublingual strip, commonly referred to as ‘Suboxone.’” Documents further state that an additional “(1) 12MG/3MG Buprenorphine sublingual strip was also located.”
The deputy wrote that buprenorphine is a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance and alleged that “the Suboxone strips were not placed in proper prescription bottle nor was there copy of valid prescription on his person.”
Morris appeared before a court commissioner on April 23, 2026. Court records show he waived an attorney for the initial appearance and was later determined eligible for representation by the Office of the Public Defender.
The court ordered Morris released on a $1,000 unsecured personal bond with conditions that he obey all laws, appear for court hearings, and abstain from alcohol and non-prescribed controlled dangerous substances.
