Aaron Javon Davis, 36, of White Plains, is facing two misdemeanor theft charges and two misdemeanor trespassing charges after court documents say he stole Pokémon trading card products from a retail store on Western Parkway in Waldorf on April 29, 2026. The case was filed in District Court for Charles County on April 30, 2026, and remains open, according to court records.

According to charging documents filed by Deputy M. Sisco of the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at about 8:48 p.m. on April 29, 2026, to the Target on Western Parkway in Waldorf for a reported theft of Pokémon trading cards.

Court records say the reported suspect was described as a Black male wearing all black clothing and a black skull cap, carrying a white store bag.

The statement of probable cause says the suspect was later reported to be near St. Patrick’s Drive in Waldorf. When the officer arrived, court documents say he saw a man matching the description coming out of a nearby business while carrying a used white store bag. The officer wrote that he told the man to place the bag on the ground and keep his hands visible.

According to court documents, when asked where he was coming from, Davis said “he had just left Walmart.” The officer wrote that when he asked where the Pokémon cards were, Davis said “they were in the bag on the ground.” Davis was then identified through his Maryland driver’s license.

A store manager told investigators that the same suspect had stolen Pokémon cards earlier in the day but that store personnel did not initially report it because they did not know who he was. The manager later saw the suspect return to the store and steal more Pokémon cards, then followed him while relaying information to law enforcement. The manager positively identified Davis at the scene as the person accused in both incidents, according to the filing.

Court documents say Davis stated “that he had stolen from the Target earlier in the day but he did not open any of the packets” and said officers “could go to his house and he would turn everything over to us.” The officer also wrote that Davis said “he knew he was being greedy by returning a second time.”

According to the charging documents, another officer went to Davis’ home, where a woman at the residence allowed officers inside and the stolen items were recovered. The items were returned to the store, which provided an itemized receipt. Court records list the first alleged theft as nine Pokémon booster packs and six Pokémon booster bundles valued at $238.35, and the second alleged theft as four elite trainer box Pokémon packs valued at $239.96.

The trespassing charges are based on a prior notice barring Davis from the store, according to court documents. The statement says dispatch reported that Davis had an active no-trespass notice from February 5, 2016. When Davis heard the date, court documents say he stated “he remembered that he had been trespassed because he was selling CD’s out in front of the store.”

Davis was arrested and taken to the Charles County Detention Center for processing, according to the statement of probable cause. Court records show he was later released on a $1,500 unsecured personal bond. As a condition of release, he was ordered not to engage in criminal conduct, to appear in court when notified, and not to enter or be found near Western Parkway in Waldorf.
