Antoine Sequan Hurley, 41, of Huntingtown, is facing misdemeanor charges of failing to obey a reasonable and lawful order, obstructing justice, and resisting or interfering with arrest after Calvert County deputies said he ran from officers who were attempting to serve arrest warrants in Lusby on May 7, 2026.

According to court documents, members of the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Warrant Unit, Special Operations Team, and Drug Enforcement Unit went to a home in Lusby at about 8:38 p.m. on May 7, 2026, to attempt to serve arrest warrants on Hurley. The documents state that Hurley had active arrest warrants connected to attempted second-degree burglary.

Deputies reported that, while searching the back deck of the residence, a sergeant saw Hurley sitting on the ledge of the deck. According to the statement of probable cause, the sergeant gave Hurley “numerous orders to show his hands.” Court documents say Hurley slowly showed his hands but did not come over the deck ledge as ordered.

Deputies then attempted to take Hurley into custody, according to the filing. The statement says Hurley allegedly remained seated, pulled away from deputies, clenched his fists, shed his hoodie, and escaped their grasp. Court documents say he then jumped from the deck and ran, while allegedly continuing to ignore verbal commands from deputies.

The filing states that deputies pursued Hurley through a wooded area behind the residence and ordered him to stop running. Deputies later saw him near Thunderbird Drive in Lusby, according to the statement. The court record says deputies attempted to use an agency-issued Taser during the pursuit, but Hurley tripped in the woods and then turned toward deputies before eventually complying and being taken into custody.

According to court documents, Hurley was searched after his arrest, and deputies reported finding no contraband. He was then transported to the Calvert County Detention Center. The statement says the incident was recorded on an agency-issued Axon body-worn camera.

Hurley was initially ordered held without bond on May 8, 2026. A bail review was held May 11, 2026, before Judge Michelle R. Saunders, and court records again list him as held without bond.
