Stoney Louis Buckler, 40, of Mechanicsville
Stoney Louis Buckler, 40, of Mechanicsville, has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance that was not cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia after a May 3, 2026, arrest in St. Mary’s County, according to District Court documents.
According to the statement of charges, a deputy with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded on May 3, 2026, to a reported disturbance in the area of Cedar View Drive. Court documents state that Sgt. Potter made contact with Buckler, who was identified by his Maryland driver’s license. The filing says a consent search was later conducted with Buckler’s permission.
During the search, the deputy reported finding a black sunglass case in Buckler’s left front jeans pocket. According to court documents, the case contained four metal push rods, two metal sockets described as suspected smoking devices, one hypodermic needle, and a suspected Suboxone strip inside a small orange plastic container. The court filing states that, after the items were found, Buckler “admitted that he had Suboxone inside the orange container,” and that the statement was captured on body camera footage.
The statement of charges lists the alleged location as Old Village Road in Mechanicsville. The charging document states Buckler allegedly possessed a Schedule 3 controlled dangerous substance, described as a Suboxone strip, and allegedly possessed drug paraphernalia intended for use with a controlled dangerous substance.
Buckler is charged with two misdemeanors: CDS possession, not cannabis, under Criminal Law § 5-601, and possession of CDS paraphernalia under Criminal Law § 5-619. A judicial officer found probable cause for both charges, according to the court record.
Court records show Buckler had an initial appearance on May 3, 2026. The initial appearance report states he appeared without an attorney and waived an attorney for that initial appearance only. The report also states that release on personal recognizance was not granted because the defendant had a prior record of failing to appear.
Buckler was released on a $500 unsecured personal bond. His release conditions include appearing in court when notified, not engaging in criminal conduct, and abstaining from alcohol or the abusive use or possession of narcotic drugs or other controlled dangerous substances without a prescription.
