St. Mary’s College of Maryland Announces 2026 River Concert Series Opening June 19, 2026

May 15, 2026

St. Mary’s College of Maryland will continue its longstanding River Concert Series this summer, with the season opening on Friday, June 19. The series will begin with a Juneteenth concert featuring blues and jazz vocalist Stacy Brooks, followed by five consecutive Friday evening performances with the Chesapeake Orchestra.

This year’s series includes a special recognition of Professor of Music Jeffrey Silberschlag’s leadership and lasting contributions, which helped establish it as a meaningful connection between the College and the surrounding community.

“For nearly three decades, the River Concert Series has been a meaningful part of our connection to the community, thanks to the extraordinary leadership of Jeffrey Silberschlag,” said Rhonda Phillips, president of St. Mary’s College of Maryland. “We are proud to continue the series this year with a recognition of his leadership and impact.”

Looking ahead, St. Mary’s College will build on that foundation by reimagining the series as one that expands the range of musical genres to reach broader audiences, welcomes families, and reflects our ongoing commitment to serving our neighbors and the region.

Concert dates are available on the St. Mary’s College of Maryland website. We hope you will join us this summer!
