Antwand L. Johnson, 43, of Mechanicsville
Antwand L. Johnson, 43, of Mechanicsville, is facing misdemeanor charges of trespassing on private property, resisting or interfering with arrest, and concealing a dangerous weapon after deputies responded to a reported disturbance at MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital in Leonardtown on May 8, 2026, according to District Court documents.
Court records list the incident location as Point Lookout Road in Leonardtown and identify the arresting officer as Deputy Andrew Raley of the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the statement of probable cause, Deputy Raley wrote that body-worn camera video was activated and that he arrived at the hospital’s intensive care unit at about 1:46 p.m. for a report of trespassing involving a disturbance. Hospital security staff allegedly told deputies that Johnson was “causing a disturbance again for the second time today,” and hospital staff also said they believed he was intoxicated.
Deputy Raley wrote that he observed Johnson “causing a loud disturbance and yelling at hospital staff,” while demanding that his father be transferred to a different hospital. When deputies made contact with Johnson, he continued to be belligerent and stated, “You are going to need back up.”
Police say hospital staff wanted Johnson removed from the premises and served with a no-trespass order because of his behavior. Deputies told Johnson several times that he had to leave the hospital or he would be arrested. Johnson responded that “he did not want to hear none of that” and said, “I’m not leaving.”
According to the charging documents, Johnson again indicated deputies would need to call someone else because he was not going to leave. While in the ICU hallway, he said, “Y’all going to have to call more mother fuc##rs, because y’all not going to ban me from seeing my father.”
Deputies then attempted to place Johnson under arrest for trespassing, according to the filing. The documents say Johnson was told he was under arrest and directed to put his hands behind his back. He allegedly responded, “I’m not placing my hands behind my back,” placed his back against a wall, and then tried to walk away while raising his hands above his head so deputies could not reach them.
The statement says Johnson was repeatedly told to put his hands behind his back and stop resisting. Deputies reported that he repeatedly pulled away before force was used and he was taken into custody. During a search after the arrest, deputies said they found a metal knuckle knife concealed in Johnson’s pocket.
Court records show Johnson was released after posting a $1,000 unsecured personal bond on May 8, 2026. The docket also shows that he was found eligible for the Public Defender on May 9, 2026, and that the Public Defender’s Office entered an appearance on May 11, 2026.
