The case, filed May 16, 2026, remains open in District Court for St. Mary’s County. Eastburn is scheduled for a court date on June 18, 2026, in Courtroom 2 at St. Mary’s District Court.

According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office was conducting traffic enforcement on May 16, 2026, in the area of Point Lookout Road and Gilliam Drive in Park Hall when he observed a 2014 Dodge Journey fail to come to a complete stop before leaving the parking lot of Cook’s Liquors and Deli and entering Point Lookout Road. The deputy also reported that the vehicle’s registration sticker appeared to be expired as of March 2026.

The deputy initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as Eastburn through his Maryland license. Court documents state that the deputy noticed Eastburn’s eyes were glossy, his movements appeared slow and lethargic, and his speech was slurred. The deputy also reported detecting a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from Eastburn’s breath.

According to court documents, Eastburn “admitted to drinking four to five beer earlier this evening” The deputy wrote that Eastburn was asked to exit the vehicle and, while walking toward the rear of the vehicle, lost his balance and stumbled into it.

Eastburn agreed to take standardized field sobriety tests, according to the statement of probable cause. The deputy wrote that Eastburn initially stated “he could walk and balance normally,” but later advised that “he walks with a limp in his right leg.

The court filing states that the deputy observed several signs during the field sobriety tests. Eastburn was arrested at 1:57 a.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. Court documents state that he later agreed to take an Intoximeter test at the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office and provided a breath sample of .16 BrAC at 3:09 a.m.

Before transport, the deputy reported searching Eastburn’s vehicle and finding a cigarette container on the passenger-side floorboard that contained a folded dollar bill. According to court documents, the folded bill contained a white powdery substance that the deputy identified as cocaine.

The charging documents list the controlled dangerous substance charge as involving cocaine and the paraphernalia charge as involving a folded dollar bill allegedly used to contain cocaine. The deputy also reported finding three empty 50-milliliter Fireball whiskey containers and one empty 375-milliliter Fireball container inside the vehicle.

Eastburn was transported to the detention center for processing. Court records show that bail was set on May 16, 2026, as a $500 unsecured personal bond, which was posted the same day.
