Ty-Kane Shi-Heim Briscoe, 30, of Lexington Park, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault in St. Mary’s County District Court after an arrest tied to a February 5, 2026 incident in Lexington Park.

Court records show Briscoe was also charged with disorderly conduct, resisting or interfering with arrest, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, driving while so impaired by drugs or a combination of drugs and alcohol that he could not drive safely, failure to stop after an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle or property, negligent driving, and reckless driving.

According to court documents filed by the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded at about 4:20 p.m. to the intersection of Midway Drive and Yorktown Drive for a reported vehicle crash. An adult female driver told authorities she had been stopped at the intersection while transporting her one-year-old granddaughter when her vehicle was struck from behind by a white work truck with green writing. She reported that the truck backed away, turned onto Yorktown Drive, and left the scene.

Court documents state that dispatchers later received a report that a white work truck with “US Pipelining” written on it had backed into another vehicle while parked on Winter Bloom Lane in Lexington Park before the driver went inside a residence. A K9 officer responded and made contact with Briscoe, who was later identified through his Maryland driver’s license. The documents say Briscoe admitted he had been driving the white work truck and stated that he had struck his own parked vehicle while trying to park.

The officer reported that Briscoe had glossy eyes, slurred speech, was swaying while standing, and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath. According to the charging documents, Briscoe tried to leave the scene more than once after being told not to do so. Deputies said he resisted arrest by pulling away, stiffening his body, and refusing verbal commands. The documents state that, while deputies were trying to place him into a patrol vehicle, Briscoe pushed back with his body and refused to get in despite repeated commands.

After Briscoe was placed inside the patrol vehicle, court documents state that he spit in a deputy’s face and said, “BI##H.” The documents also state that Briscoe refused standardized field sobriety testing. He was taken to St. Mary’s County Hospital for medical clearance and then to the St. Mary’s County Detention and Rehabilitation Center.

At his initial appearance on February 6, 2026, Briscoe waived having an attorney for that hearing only. A commissioner set a $1,000 unsecured personal bond and ordered him to follow release conditions, including appearing in court, avoiding criminal conduct, abstaining from alcohol or the abusive use or possession of controlled substances without a prescription, and not driving after consuming alcohol. The court paperwork also noted a prior record of failure to appear.

The case was initially scheduled for trial on March 19, 2026, then postponed to April 16, 2026, and later concluded on May 19, 2026. Court records show Briscoe pleaded guilty to second-degree assault before Judge Karen Christy Holt Chesser. He was sentenced to one year in jail, with all but 30 days suspended, and two years of supervised probation. The disorderly conduct and resisting or interfering with arrest charges were placed on the inactive docket on May 19, 2026.
