Nathan Oliver White, 44, of North Beach, has been charged with first-degree assault and second-degree assault after an alleged May 30, 2026, stabbing incident in Chesapeake Beach. The charges were filed in District Court for Calvert County on May 31, 2026, and the matter remains open.

The incident began near Gordon Stinnett Avenue in Chesapeake Beach. Deputy Boerum was working an off-duty assignment at Traders Steak and Ale when he was alerted to a dispute outside the business. He responded to the parking lot area and found an adult male victim bleeding heavily from injuries to his arm, face, and body.

Several people at the scene identified White as the assailant. Witnesses and staff said that after the physical altercation ended, White walked onto the deck area of the establishment. Investigators said part of the altercation was captured on surveillance footage, which showed White wearing dark-colored pants and a red shirt. White later left the area and was found a short distance away after changing shirts. A search after his arrest reportedly found the red shirt concealed inside his backpack.

The fight was traced to Kellam’s Field near the pavilion on Gordon Stinnett Avenue. Deputy Timothy Rzepkowski searched the area and found a broken red and black flathead screwdriver with the handle and shaft separated. Suspected blood was found on the screwdriver and on the ground nearby, and Crime Scene Technician G. Crump processed the scene and collected evidence. Deputies also found a trail of blood leading from the Kellam’s Field pavilion, across a small foot bridge, and onto the property of Traders Steak and Ale.

At Calvert Memorial Hospital, investigators observed several puncture or stab wounds on the adult male victim’s back and rib area, a large cut on his lower right side, and additional cuts or puncture wounds on his stomach. The injuries were described as consistent with a sharp object such as a screwdriver.

The adult male victim told investigators he knew the person involved only as “Nathan” and said he had seen him before while riding the bus. He described Nathan as a Black male wearing a red shirt and dark pants. The adult male victim said he encountered Nathan near the pavilion at Kellam’s Field and that the two began arguing. When asked what the argument was about, the adult male victim stated it was because Nathan “doesn’t like white people.” He said the argument turned into a physical fight and that he later discovered he had been stabbed or cut.

White was taken to an office by Deputy Parrott, where Detective Mudd conducted a recorded interview. Before the interview, Deputy Parrott advised White of his rights. During the interview, White said he knew the adult male victim from the bus. White said he and the adult male victim had been involved in a dispute. White also said he had been wearing a red shirt but had removed it. When asked whether he stabbed the adult male victim, White made no comment.

White was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing. The adult male victim was treated at Calvert Memorial Hospital. While at the hospital, the adult male victim allegedly became unruly, threatened hospital staff, was asked to leave the property, and was later arrested by Deputy Kam Parks on separate allegations of disorderly conduct, trespassing, and failure to obey a lawful order.

At an initial appearance on May 31, 2026, White waived an attorney for that hearing only and requested a preliminary hearing. He was ordered held without bond after the court cited the nature of the offense, the evidence, the potential sentence if convicted, and a prior record of failure to appear. A bail review was scheduled for June 1, 2026, and a preliminary hearing was set for June 26, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Calvert District Court.

White has prior charges in Calvert County, including a July 2025 trespass case tied to Chesapeake Beach Fastop on Bayside Road. In that incident, a deputy said White was found outside the business despite an earlier trespass warning issued in June 2024. The deputy reported that White first said he did not have to provide his driver’s license, then identified himself and provided a Maryland identification card. He was arrested and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.

White was also charged after an April 2024 incident near Bayside Road and Sea Gate Square in Chesapeake Beach. The charges included failure to obey a lawful order, obstructing and hindering, resisting or interfering with arrest, second-degree assault, and first-degree assault. In that case, a judicial officer found probable cause on the resisting or interfering with arrest and second-degree assault counts, while finding a lack of probable cause on the failure to obey, obstructing and hindering, and first-degree assault counts.

In the April 2024 incident, deputies responded for a reported active fight involving two men in the street. An adult male victim told a deputy, “Stop him officer, he just hit me in the head with bottle.” When a deputy told White to come speak with him, White allegedly said, “For what, I just come from fishing?” Deputies said White resisted being detained, held onto a railing, and later said “yes” when asked if he needed medical assistance. The adult male victim also alleged White threatened him with a red Milwaukee switchblade, though deputies reported they were unable to find the knife.
