UPDATE 6/11/2026: “The Officers and Members of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department ask our community to keep Member Jordan Haines and his family in their thoughts and prayers following a serious accident that occurred while he was at work.
Jordan sustained severe injuries and faces a long and challenging road to recovery. While the days ahead will not be easy, those who know Jordan understand his determination, strength, and resilience. We have no doubt that he will approach this challenge with the same fighting spirit that he has demonstrated throughout his service to others.
During this difficult time, we ask everyone to respect the privacy of Jordan and his family as they focus on his recovery and healing.
The officers and members of the Solomons Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department continue to keep Jordan and his entire family in our thoughts and prayers. We stand beside them and remain committed to supporting them in any way we can.
With the tremendous help of Let’s Get Craft E, we are proud to announce the #HainesStrong fundraiser. Community members can show their support by purchasing #HainesStrong shirts and decals, with all proceeds going directly to the Haines family to assist them during this difficult time.

6/10/2026: On Monday, June 8th, 2026, around 7:45 a.m., Montgomery County Fire and EMS responded to the Medical Center Metro Station in Rockville, for the reported electrical explosion with injuries.
Crews arrived on the scene to find multiple workers injured.
A Spokesperson for the Montgomery County (MD) Fire & Rescue Service reported the incident involved three contractor workers at an active electrical vault. All three victims were in serious condition with electrical burns and other injuries.
One of the injured workers has now been identified by community organizations as Coach Haines, an active member of the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, as well as a volunteer youth sports coach in Calvert County.
Haines is well known in the community for his service with the Solomons Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad and for his work with local youth athletes, including Calvert County T-Ball and the Solomons Steelers.
Any GoFundMe/Meal train or other means to assist the family will be provided when they become available.
