On Sunday, June 14, 2026, at approximately 7:43 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the 30000 block of Summitt Court in Mechanicsville, for the reported technical rescue after a structure collapse with multiple trapped.
911 callers reported a tree fell onto the residence with two occupants and multiple pets trapped on the second floor, the caller advised no known injuries were reported.
Mechanicsville VFD responded with Rescue Squad 2, Engine 23, Engine Tanker 24 and Chief 2 staffed with 12 personnel and arrived on the scene to confirm a large tree into the two-story residence with all occupants and pets out of the home.
After evaluating the occupants, crews confirmed no injuries were reported and scaled the incident down to just Mechanicsville units.
