UPDATE 6/22/2026: On June 20, at 2:14 a.m., officers responded to Friendly Tavern & Liquor located in the 3000 block of Leonardtown Road in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two male victims.
The first victim was transported to a hospital for treatment of multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body and remains in critical condition.
The second victim suffered a minor injury to the lower body and refused treatment.

On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 2:20 a.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services were dispatched to the Friendly Tavern & Liquors located at 3190 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf, for the reported shooting.
Police arrived on the scene to find a vehicle covered in blood with a 28-year-old male suffering a graze wound to the right side. A second victim was located a short time later suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
EMS arrived and requested a helicopter for the second victim.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 landed nearby and transported the adult male to the MedStar Washington Hospital Center with life-threatening injuries.
The 28-year-old male was treated on scene and signed transport refusal forms on scene.
Police continue to investigating the assault.
