On Saturday, June 20, 2026, at approximately 4:40 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Crain Highway and Mattawoman Drive in Waldorf, for the serious motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and multiple vehicles.
Multiple 911 callers reported a vehicle struck at least 6 or more other vehicles including a motorcycle.
Crews arrived on the scene to confirm at least 6 vehicles and a motorcycle was involved and requested additional ambulances to the scene.
A 53-year-old male was transported by ambulance to the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center.
One additional patient was transported with minor/non-life-threatening injuries to an area hospital.
At least four other patients signed care refusal forms or denied transport at the scene.
Police continue to investigate the crash as witnesses reported a Nissan was travelling at a high rate of speed when it struck the other 5 vehicles involved.
