On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at approximately 3:40 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to the area of Marshalls Corner Road and Middletown Road in La Plata, for the serious motor vehicle collision with entrapment.
Crews arrived on the scene to find a two-vehicle T-bone style collision with one adult female trapped.
EMS requested a helicopter to land nearby due to the 61-year-old
Firefighters extricated the patient within 20 minutes.
Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 2 landed nearby and transported the patient to the UM Capital Region Medical Center.
Police are investigating the collision.
