UPDATE 7/13/2026: Bryan Neal Gordon, 27, of Suitland, faces charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment, second-degree assault, theft of less than $100, and soliciting prostitution following an investigation into allegations that an adult female victim was handcuffed, assaulted and taken from Charles County to Prince George’s County.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office began investigating after officers responded to Master Suites on Old Washington Road in Waldorf at approximately 3:28 a.m. on June 29, 2026, for a reported kidnapping and sexual assault.
Officers located an adult female victim, who was later taken to a hospital for treatment and a sexual assault examination. An investigator reported that injuries observed on her body were consistent with the events she described.
The victim initially reported that she had been walking toward a convenience store on Crain Highway when an unknown man forced her into a vehicle.
During a later interview, she clarified that she had agreed to meet the man in the Master Suites parking lot after arranging to exchange sexual services for $350.
According to the allegations, the victim willingly entered the man’s vehicle between 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on June 28, 2026. A short distance away, the man allegedly claimed he was a police officer, told her she was under arrest and said he was taking her to a police station.
Investigators said the man produced handcuffs and attempted to restrain the victim near Sub Station Road in Waldorf. The victim reported that he struck her in the face. She was able to free one hand and hit him with the handcuffs, causing an injury to his lip, but he allegedly overpowered her and secured the handcuffs around her wrists.
The victim said the man told her he had a knife, although she did not see one. He then drove her to a construction area in Prince George’s County, where she reported being sexually assaulted. Gordon has not been charged with a sexual offense in the Charles County case described in the available filings.
The victim told investigators that the man later drove her back to the Master Suites area. She said she broke free from the handcuffs, ran from the vehicle and received help from another person. Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives reportedly showed her running from the area where the vehicle had parked between 3:11 a.m. and 3:17 a.m. She was also seen hiding underneath and behind vehicles.
After returning from the hospital, the victim reported that property was missing from her hotel room. She said the man had possession of her room key and was approaching or entering the room when she fled. The missing property included a black wallet decorated with skulls and roses, approximately $50 to $60 in cash, two debit cards, a temporary Virginia identification card, vehicle registration and title documents, and a Social Security card.
The victim also told investigators that one of her dreadlock hair extensions broke off during the struggle and remained somewhere inside the vehicle.
Detectives reviewing surveillance video identified a black vehicle that appeared to be either a Chevrolet Malibu or Hyundai Elantra. License plate reader information later identified a black Chevrolet Malibu entering Charles County at about 10:28 p.m. on June 28 and again at approximately 2:56 a.m. on June 29.
Investigators learned that the same vehicle had been stopped later on June 29 near Nursery Road and Elm Road in Anne Arundel County. Gordon was identified as the driver. Another adult woman who was present during that traffic stop reportedly told Maryland Transportation Authority Police that Gordon had kidnapped and handcuffed her. Gordon was arrested there and taken to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
During a search connected to that separate investigation, an officer reportedly observed a hair-braid extension in the back seat of the Chevrolet Malibu and a white key card. Charles County detectives later seized the vehicle and transported it to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Science Section.
A search of the Malibu reportedly led to the recovery of the first victim’s black Croc shoe, a key card from Master Suites and other evidence.
Detectives interviewed Gordon at the Anne Arundel County Detention Center on July 1, 2026. According to the investigator, Gordon initially denied having sex with the victim but later acknowledged that sexual activity occurred. He denied identifying himself as a police officer and initially denied having handcuffs.
Gordon later acknowledged that he had handcuffs and said he placed them on the victim’s wrists during sex, according to the investigator. He also denied stealing anything from the victim’s room. Detectives collected Gordon’s DNA and clothing under a search warrant.
The formal charges allege that Gordon forcibly carried and concealed the victim, intentionally detained her, assaulted her, stole property valued at less than $100 and knowingly solicited prostitution on June 29, 2026. An arrest warrant was issued July 1 and served July 2.
At Gordon’s initial appearance, a judicial officer ordered him held without bond after finding a reasonable likelihood that he posed a danger to the alleged victim, other people or the community. The order also stated that, should he later be released, he must not contact or harass the victim or go near her location.
A bail review was held July 6, 2026, and Gordon remained held without bond. He is represented by the Charles County Public Defender’s Office. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 29, 2026, in Charles County District Court.
7/6/2026: Detectives assigned to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division have charged Bryan Neal Gordon, age 27, of Silver Spring, in connection with a kidnapping and assault.
On June 28, at 10:30 p.m., the victim arranged to meet an individual in the 2200 block of Old Washington Road in Waldorf.
Once she entered the individual’s vehicle, he falsely claimed to be a police officer, handcuffed her, physically assaulted her and then drove to another location where he sexually assaulted her. The victim escaped several hours later and called 9-1-1. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Through investigation, detectives learned that later the next morning, the Maryland Transportation Authority Police arrested a man in Anne Arundel County in an unrelated kidnapping case in which the circumstances were similar to this case. Further, detectives obtained a search warrant for the suspect’s vehicle and recovered evidence linking him to the assault stemming from Old Washington Road.
Detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Gordon with kidnapping, false imprisonment, and other related charges. Gordon is currently being held in the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.
