7/8/2026: The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Monday afternoon in the unincorporated section of Upper Marlboro. The deceased driver is 23-year-old Juan Hawkins of Brandywine.
On July 6, 2026, at approximately 3:30 pm, officers responded to a collision involving two vehicles in the 11900 block of Croom Road. Hawkins was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the second-involved vehicle was taken to the hospital with severe, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation revealed that both vehicles collided head-on while traveling on Croom Road. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
