From the Farm to Your Table: St. Mary’s County to Host Farmers Feeding St. Mary’s – August 13th and September 12th

July 14, 2026

Local farmers are once again bringing fresh food directly to the community through the annual Farmers Feeding St. Mary’s program.

The initiative will provide free, farm-fresh produce to residents at two distribution events in Lexington Park.

The first distribution will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at the Bay District Volunteer Fire Department, located at 46900 S. Shangri-La Drive, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A second event is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the Lexington Park U-Haul parking lot, located at 46041 Signature Lane, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A variety of fresh produce, including corn, tomatoes, squash, and more, will be available at both events. Frozen meat will be offered only at the September 12 distribution.

Each family will be limited to one bag of produce per event, with distribution continuing until the scheduled end time or until supplies are exhausted.

The program is made possible through a partnership between the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County, the Department of Aging & Human Services, the Department of Economic Development, Feed St. Mary’s, and the University of Maryland College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
