Calvert Detectives Make Arrest in North Beach Stabbing

On July 4, 2026, at approximately 10:47 p.m., deputies from the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 4000 block of 3rd Street in North Beach for the report of a stabbing.

A preliminary investigation indicates that a group of individuals had been setting off fireworks when an argument broke out, escalating into an altercation during which one individual was stabbed.

Upon arrival, deputies located the victim, identified as Tarvio Lavey Jenkins, 45, of Sunderland, suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body. Deputies immediately rendered lifesaving aid until emergency medical personnel arrived.

Jenkins was transported to a regional trauma center in stable condition.

Following an extensive investigation, detectives with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau identified Keith Lord Ghee, 52, of Washington, D.C., as the suspect. After obtaining the appropriate criminal charges, detectives later located and arrested Ghee without incident.

Ghee was charged with:

  • Attempted Second-Degree Murder
  • First-Degree Assault
  • Second-Degree Assault

Ghee is currently being held at the Calvert County Detention Center.
