Heather Lynn Tingler, 42, of Baltimore, has been charged with misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance other than cannabis and a second misdemeanor involving Suboxone without a valid prescription following a July 6, 2026, traffic stop in Huntingtown.
Calvert County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched at approximately 4:13 p.m. after receiving a report of a blue Dodge pickup truck “driving all over the roadway” while traveling south toward Plum Point Road.
A sergeant located the truck and reportedly saw it make an illegal lane change before stopping it near Plum Point Road in Huntingtown. Tingler was seated in the front passenger seat.
As a deputy approached the vehicle, he allegedly saw Tingler quickly place something beneath her right leg. When asked what she had placed there, Tingler handed the deputy a Suboxone strip, authorities said. Suboxone was identified in the filing as a Schedule III controlled substance.
Tingler was removed from the truck and placed in custody. When deputies asked whether she had any other narcotics, she replied, “yes,” according to the officer’s account.
Deputies then removed her handcuffs, and Tingler allegedly pulled a cigarillo packet from her bra. Inside, authorities reported finding 29 pills, including eight green pills and 21 blue pills. Officers used a pill-identification resource and concluded that both types were Clonazepam, a Schedule IV controlled substance.
Another Suboxone strip and seven Gabapentin pills were allegedly found inside Tingler’s purse. The filing states that Tingler said she “did not have health insurance and was not prescribed any of the narcotics she had on her person.”
A female deputy conducted an additional search and reportedly found what authorities described as a noncriminal amount of marijuana in Tingler’s sock. The medications and other items were collected as evidence.
Tingler was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center.
At an initial appearance later that evening, Tingler waived an attorney for that hearing and was released on her own recognizance without posting bond. Her release conditions require her to appear in court, avoid criminal activity and abstain from alcohol and the unauthorized use or possession of controlled substances.
