Holly Ann Bailey, 29, of Owings, has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and malicious destruction of property valued at less than $1,000 following an alleged domestic altercation that authorities say left an adult male victim injured and resulted in damage to a gaming console.
A deputy with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office responded to Hall Court in Owings at approximately 4:25 a.m. on July 22, 2026, after a caller reported that her granddaughter and the granddaughter’s boyfriend were fighting.
The caller told dispatch that the boyfriend was injured “really bad,” that his face was bloody and that he had been choked. She also reported that her granddaughter was breaking his belongings, according to the deputy’s account.
When the deputy arrived, Bailey was sitting on the front steps of the home. The deputy reported seeing dried blood on her legs but said the amount of blood did not appear to be connected to a small cut on her right knee. No other injuries were observed on Bailey that appeared consistent with the blood on her clothing or body.
Bailey told the deputy that she and her boyfriend had been drinking before they argued over him looking at another woman. She said they went into separate rooms and continued talking through FaceTime.
Bailey said the adult male victim eventually decided to leave and began gathering his belongings. She told the deputy that she did not want him to leave. Her conversation with the deputy ended when emergency medical personnel arrived, and Bailey declined a medical evaluation.
The adult male victim was taken by ambulance to CalvertHealth Medical Center. Authorities reported that he suffered injuries to his groin, left ear and the back of his head. Investigators also alleged that Bailey strangled him during the altercation.
The victim told a corporal that Bailey damaged his PlayStation 5 gaming console, which he valued at approximately $500.
Bailey became argumentative with a corporal and stopped providing a statement, the deputy wrote. She was then arrested, searched for weapons and contraband, and taken to the Calvert County Detention Center. The search reportedly found no weapons or contraband.
Before further conversation, the deputy advised Bailey of her rights. The responding deputy and corporal recorded portions of the investigation using agency-issued body cameras, including documentation of the victim’s injuries at the hospital.
At her initial appearance on July 22, 2026, Bailey waived an attorney for that proceeding and requested a preliminary hearing. A judicial officer initially ordered her held without bond, citing concerns that she posed a danger to the alleged victim, other people or the community, as well as a concern that she might not appear for future proceedings.
Bailey appeared for bail reviews on July 23, July 24 and July 27, 2026. Although a release on recognizance was entered on July 24, subsequent entries show that she was again ordered held without bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 21, 2026, at 1 p.m. in Calvert District Court.
