On Monday, July 27, 2026, at approximately 10:30 p.m., police, firefighters and emergency medical services responded to a single vehicle collision on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard west of Governor Ritchie Highway.
Crews arrived on the scene and pronounced the operator of the vehicle deceased at the scene by members of the Anne Arundel County Fire Department.
The Crash Reconstruction Team was requested to respond and investigate the collision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a Mazda 3 was traveling southbound on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard when the driver failed to negotiate a left turn in the roadway. The Mazda left the roadway striking a guardrail and tree. The Crash Reconstruction Team processed the scene and will be handling the investigation.
Police have identified the vehicle as a 2020 Mazda 3, with the operator being a 33-year-old male of Charlotte Hall, Maryland.
