Firefighters Quickly Respond to House Fire in California, No Injuries Reported

On Saturday, April 11, 2020, at approximately 5:35 p.m., firefighters from Bay District, NAS Patuxent River, and Hollywood responded to 45529 Shannon Street in California, for the reported structure fire.

Dispatchers advised all units the 911 called reported a furnace on fire in the basement.

Firefighters from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department Company 3 and 9 responded and arrived on the scene within 3 minutes of dispatch with 15 personnel.

Crews found a two story residence with smoke showing from the residence, and made an interior attack on the fire, firefighters extinguished the furnace fire in under 5 minutes and reported no extensions.

No injuries were reported and firefighters operated on the scene for approximately 30 minutes.

Firefighters from Hollywood were placed into service prior to arriving on the scene. Shortly after Rescue Squad 7 responded with 8 personnel to a motor vehicle accident with injuries at Three Notch Road and St. Andrew’s Church Road, with Tanker 74 responding to a vehicle on fire in Lexington Park with 6 personnel.
