UPDATE: On November 3 at 10:56 p.m., officers responded to the 2000 block of Amber Leaf Place in Waldorf for the report of a shooting.
When officers arrived, they located the victim, Daniel McClellan-Givens 17, of Waldorf, inside an apartment; he had a gunshot wound and was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
A preliminary investigation revealed the victim was in the parking lot of Aldermans Place, which is nearby, to meet someone.
There was an alteration and shots were fired. McClellan-Givens ran back to his apartment for help and the suspect(s) fled.

11/04/2020: On Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at approximately 10:58 p.m., police responded to area of Amber Leaf Place and Aldermans Place in Waldorf, for the reported shooting.
Officers arrived on the scene to find one victim with multiple gunshot wounds.
Additional responding Officers found one apartment with the front door broken, with a large blood trail leading down the walkway and hallway, along with multiple pieces of evidence and blood in the parking lot.
Medics reported the victim was a 17-year-old male, with at least three gunshot wounds.
Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 2 was requested and landed nearby. The victim was transported to an area hospital.
At this time, no suspect information has been provided. This is an active investigation.

This is the second shooting this year to take place on Amber Leaf Place. On April 20, 2020, Officers responded to Amber Leaf Place and Aldermans Place.
